Rid'm App SportsTech

Ride with
Rid’m

Co-Founder

Rid’m brings indoor cycling home with multi-level circuits, essential metrics, and exclusive DJ sets tailored to each workout.

Early-Stage Concept, MVP, and Product Strategy

Rid’m was a startup I joined as co-founder and design lead, created to distill the essence of a spinning class into a simple, compact, and intuitive app for indoor cycling at home.

Rid’m’s unique selling point is its blend of virtual coaching and synchronized music, delivered through DJ sets tailored to each circuit and level. The app features a minimalist dashboard that displays key metrics and offers a variety of training circuits, each designed by professional trainers.

As founding designer, I defined the product design strategy and helped shape the concept from day one, creating a fully interactive MVP prototype as well as Rid’m’s brand identity and marketing materials. Combined with the beta version, these efforts laid the foundation to test our hypotheses, refine the value proposition, and validate the overall concept.

Although the project was later put on standby and was never resumed, it served as a valuable case study on early-stage product development, applying lean startup methodologies, defining product design strategy, and determining the scope of an MVP.

Genioo E-Commerce

Marketplace
for Experts

UX Designer

Genioo connects users with certified experts through a simple marketplace and chat platform for fast, reliable advice.

Highlighting the Impact of Early UX Involvement

Genioo was a Barcelona-based startup at the seed stage, offering a marketplace and chat platform for expert advice that connected individuals with specific questions to certified experts. With a solid base of early adopters, the team focused on validating the business model, testing monetization strategies, and achieving product-market fit.

I joined Genioo as a consultant UX designer, working alongside my partner, who specialized in UX research, during the final months of the startup’s runway, as a strategic move in their last effort to gain the traction needed to secure the project’s continuity.

During this period, we built a strong partnership with the team, collaborating efficiently on a sprint basis, which quickly produced positive results. Unfortunately, despite these improvements, the company faced a funding shortfall and was eventually dissolved. In a postmortem reflection, the CEO noted that a key lesson was the importance of involving a UX team and integrating UX research earlier in the process.

“There are very strong UX and UI design profiles, but for an MVP context, we should have included a User Research profile early on, which we did months later with Vaida and Guillem’s team, achieving spectacular results!”

Savety Fintech

Gamified
Savings

Product & Visual Designer

Savety helps students reach savings goals by combining digital banking with gamification, making saving engaging.

Shaping Product Concept and Brand for a Gamified Fintech Solution

Savety was a project developed as part of NUMA Barcelona’s growth acceleration program, an incubator and venture-backed initiative supporting seed-stage startups. The project took place during the VidaCaixa Week of Innovation, an event challenging entrepreneurs to disrupt the fintech industry with innovative solutions.

Savety aimed to help students reach their saving goals through gamification. As a consultant, I brought my experience in digital banking to support the team in shaping the product concept and refining the brand identity, culminating in an interactive prototype showcased during the final presentation.

Wanup TravelTech

Hotel Booking
for Affiliates

Lead UI Designer

Wanup offers hotels and small chains a unified affiliate program through a hotel booking and digital marketing platform.

Empowering Independent Hotels Beyond Booking Giants

Catalonia Hotels & Resorts is Barcelona’s top hotel chain, with a presence in Europe and the Caribbean. To offer an alternative to major OTAs such as Booking.com and Agoda, the company created Wanup, a spin-off offering individual hotels and small chains an alternative solution: a unified affiliate program with its own hotel booking platform, providing all the essential tools for room booking, management, and marketing in a single place.

Progressing From UI Designer to Lead UI and Shaping UX

I joined Wanup’s team in its early development stage, working closely with the UX and front-end leads. My first project involved Wanup’s back office, a comprehensive suite of tools for booking management and digital marketing. I was responsible for finalizing the UI and building the full prototype, taking over a set of mid- to high-fidelity mockups provided by the founding UX team.

Later, I became the lead UI designer for Wanup’s consumer-facing hotel booking platform, transforming low-fidelity mockups into the final UI, look and feel, and interactive prototype. As the project evolved, I gradually took on UX responsibilities as well, designing new features and developing solutions from scratch as both Wanup’s booking platform and back office expanded.

An Award-Winning Startup

Wanup received the awards for ‘Best eCommerce Startup’ and ‘Gold Best eCommerce of the Year’ at the 2017 eAwards, in recognition of newly created Spanish companies dedicated to online commerce. Over time, Wanup eventually pivoted and fully merged into the Catalonia Hotels Loyalty Program.
